OUR COMMUNITY ADVISORY BOARD
YOU can make a difference!

The Community Advisory Board (CAB) is a group of people interested in HIV treatment research issues.
The CAB’s role is to assist UW Positive Research in the selection and implementation of studies locally.
The CAB acts as a connection to our communities to educate people about participation in research studies--and to educate our research staff about the issues affecting our communities.
Why join?
-
Help represent the interests of all our communities affected by HIV
-
Have a say in what studies will be done and how they will be done
-
Get information regarding new studies and investigational medications
-
Learn about recent results from previous studies and how they might affect our communities
-
Get answers to your questions and concerns about HIV and research
Who can join?
People from all walks of life are welcome to every CAB meeting, regardless of medical background, health, or HIV status.
We especially encourage those who have taken part in a clinical trial or are currently enrolled in one to participate in the CAB.
EVERYONE IS WELCOME!
When do we meet?
We met the 4th Tuesday of every month, except for December and July.
Where do we meet?
Before the pandemic, we met in the Madison Clinic Conference Room, located on the 2nd Floor of the West Clinic at Harborview Medical Center.
One day we hope to return to meeting in person.
In the meantime, we have been meeting via Zoom with much success.
To get each month's Zoom link, send an email to mlouella@uw.edu for more details.
